Alright, so I’ve mentioned I’m running a Homestuck inspired fansession. Here are all the details, followed by the application form if you are interested in applying! As I’ve said, this is a restart of an existing fansession. But don’t worry, we are restarting from the very beginning and are welcoming of any new members! All this really means is that we already have dedicated members who are very excited about the fansession. But we’ve been left a bit unbalanced, and for both plot reasons and others, we would like a few more characters.
I would prefer to be adding the least amount of new members possible, which means your application will be slightly more appealing if you are applying for a kid AND a troll. But please, feel free to apply with either one, or both! If I feel your character is a good fit, you’ll get in. I promise.
Okay, so, why would you want to apply? What’s this whole fansession about, anyway? Let me try and answer without being too revealing.
Your characters have been destined by fate to be the players in a game, either called RLUCK or RDEST. Two sessions of the same game, tied by unknown causes. The game functions in many ways similar to Homestuck’s SBURB and SGRUB; you must prototype your kernelsprite, find your cruxite object, enter the incisisphere to avoid the destruction of your home world, combat your Denizen, and defeat the opponent’s King and Queen to open the gateway to your new world.
RLUCK and RDEST are based on the concepts of fiction, fate, and predictably luck and destiny. The game constructs are based upon mythology, fables, and the supernatural. The game will be run by any combination of pesterlogs, paragraph roleplay, drawings, or in-character forum interaction. Combat will be run in a manner slightly like tabletop – your character’s ability will be factored into a modifier, but the chance element will still remain.
If you want to find out more, well, you’ll just have to apply!
Any existing Homestuck fan-character should be applicable to this setting. You may have to add a couple things, but in general it will run the same. Please fill out all of the information below – if you’re wondering why some things are absent, such as class and aspect or their land, it’s because these are game constructs that will be given to you later on. Trolls and Humans are both welcome. Alternia in this setting is the violent one that we are familiar with in Hivebent. I will give more details on specific things in the application itself.
I would really prefer that you EMAIL your applications to arcadesmaid@gmail.com. If you absolutely can’t email, then submit it to my blog (so you can include links or pictures.) Please fill out twice for two characters. YOU HAVE UNTIL MAY 7th.
Thanks!
Your Name & Tumblr URL:
Character Name: (No required name conventions. Trolls should probably be 6 and 6, but I’m not a stickler.)
Character Handle: (No real specifications. Just something related to your character, two words, that they use on IM clients.)
Character Age: (Keep trolls under 20 years [9.5 sweeps] as adult trolls are shipped off-planet. Minimum age for trolls or humans is 10 years [4.5 sweeps.] )
Character Gender:
Character Picture: (If you can draw, put a drawing here. If you can’t, either write a description of their appearance or try to put a drawing here anyway. I just need a visual sense of your character.)
Character Quirk: (How do they type? If it’s just normal, that’s fine too.)
Strife Specibi: (Please keep this within reason and realize that your character will be able to expand or altogether change this later on.)
Fetch Modus: (Yes, this will be a thing. I’ll even be managing what items your character has on hand! As for how it operates, that is up to you.)
Relations: (This is just your base character’s relations. Such as a troll’s lusii, a kid’s family, or any other character related things. I’m sure you’ll be making friends with the other players very quickly and this will change fast.)
Brief Description: (Tell me a little bit about your character. Personality, likes, dislikes, where they live, short history would be good.)
Tarot & Fable: (This will help decide some game elements and also give me a better grip on your character. Choose a card from the Major 22 Arcana [Inverse cards are fine too] and a fable or piece of fiction, any culture or story is fine. Please link me to a wiki article or something for the fable. These are purposefully vague, it’s more to shape to your character’s actions and how the game will operate for them.)
Roleplay Sample: (Whether this is a pesterlog, a paragraph roleplay sample, or any variation between is up to you.)

MSPA Music Contest Folks;

The deadline for that contest is tomorrow, right? There’s only going to be a few winners and while I certainly hope for the best for everyone, not all songs will be picked. If you have a song that is not picked as a winner but you still think it is the bomb-diggity, I have a proposal for you!

I plan on doing an animated web series later on, and if you allow me permission to use your song in my web series I will give you $3.50. For a song you already created that won’t have too much other use, that’s a pretty good offer right? I don’t plan on making money off of this web series - at least not a profit. I also won’t be taking your rights to the song, feel free to sell it on your own or what-have-you. It just means I can use it in my flash work for the series and refer to it as part of the soundtrack.

You need to have paypal and I do need to hear at least a good snippet of the song before I decide whether I’d like to use it. If you’re not sure about your music fitting for my uses, the theme of the series is fairly upbeat and fast. But feel free to send me anything, honestly! You’re also welcome to send me more than one song.

If you’re interested, contact arcadesmaid@gmail.com

Please reblog if you can. Also I don’t think there is anything wrong about offering this but if anyone is aware otherwise let me know and I’ll retract this.
